Well done to the U16 A girls who beat Queens at Stranmillis in the first game of the day. The final score was 44-17! A win tomorrow against Castleblaney will give the girls a spot on Final's Days! The U-19 Girls were very unlucky, as they lost 42-33, a result with did not reflect the effort from the team - probably their best performance this season! There were also losses for the U14 Girls and Boys side. The U-16 Boys were on stunning form beating UU Elks 54-2 at La Salle, and this has earned them their spot at Final's Day - Well done Boys! And last but not least the Mens team beat Down Vikings to keep alive their hopes for Final's Day! |

Great wins tonight for the under 16 girls and the mens team both keeping finals day dreams alive. Unlucky though for the under 19 girls who fell by 2 points to lisburn in a tight game! |

The Tigers girls welcomed Queens to ALC on Wednesday night with aspirations of making it to finals day still intact if results continue to go their way for the remainder of the season. A win tonight was a must. Sarah Quinn quickly opened the scoring for the Tigers but Queens hit back immediately with a 3 pointer. But the Tigers immediately retook the lead from a fast break with Aoife Callaghan netting the score, and from here on the Tigers took control, with Sarah, Aoife and Hannah Ferrin closing out the quarter with further scores. A new 5 took to the court for the second quarter and scores from Laura Dowling and Tierna Beattie meant the Tigers went 18 points without reply in the first half, finishing the half 21-3 and in control. The Tigers defence worked hard in the first half, conceding only 3 points in the first quarter and none in the second. The Tigers continued dominating in the 3rd quarter with scores from Nicole Craig, Sarah Quinn and Laura Dowling making it 24 points without reply for the Tigers. Queens eventually got back on the scoreboard but there was to be no fightback as 3 quick scores from Tierna Beattie and Nicole Craig made the rest of the game comfortable as the Tigers finished the quarter 33-5. The tempo slowed in the 4th quarter, and Queens found themselves scoring a couple of quick baskets, but replies from Hannah Ferrin and Aisling McCarthy rounded out an excellent win for the girls....with Finals Day still in sight! |
