Final score 43-37 The tigers got off to an absolute flyer in their first game of the season and with great work on the defensive end and great teamwork on the offensive end went into the break with a commanding 12 point lead. Perhaps this lead allowed the tigers to become too comfortable or fired the titans up, either way the titans had recovered from the whirlwind first quarter and started to chip away at the tigers lead over the next two quarters, at the end of the 3rd Tigers lead was down to 6. The fourth was a scrappy affair with each team only scoring 6 each. This left the tigers able to close out for the 6 point win and move to 1 and 0 for the season. Next up is the Elks where the Tiger will hope to move to 2 and 0. Thanks Stephen! |

Tigers ladies have regrouped this season and under the leadership of Coach Marc Mulholland and Louise Graham, they took to Queen's PEC on Thursday night ready to kick off their season. Tigers Ruth Neill won the tip and despite several offense plays from both teams the score remained 0-0 after 5minutes, it was U18 player Sarah Quinn who eventually broke the deadlock and she remained in outstanding form on both offense and defensive plays for the remainder of the game. Louise Graham and Joanne were solid in defence which proved vital as both teams failed to put away some easy shots. Another U18 Megan Rosbotham supplied several key passes, which allowed Aoife Callaghan and Lucy Duggan to continually pressurised the Queens defence, using their agility to create several scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, Maire Thompson proved unstoppable on the boards and Niamh Callaghan showed showed great consistency from the line. All in all a promising perfomance for the new-look Tigers Ladies - Final score 23-40! |
